About Moana Morgans
A Family Legacy. A Passion for the Morgan Horse.
Moana Morgans is built on more than 50 years of horsemanship, thoughtful breeding, and a deep appreciation for the Morgan horse.
Our story began in the 1970s with Marvin Radtke, who bred Morgan horses for working use on his cattle ranch in Hall, Montana. His bloodlines remain an important part of our broodmare program today, as does the passion for horses that he passed down through our family.
Over four generations, the Moana and EMR Morgan prefixes have carried that legacy forward. While our breeding and training programs have evolved and become more specialized over the years, our purpose remains much the same: to produce exceptional Morgan horses with the talent, temperament, and versatility to thrive in sport and in partnership with their riders.
More Than a Breeding Program
Our love of Morgans is rooted in something even broader: a lifelong love of horses and the relationships we build with them.
At Moana Morgans, we breed, raise, ride, and train the horses we produce. That hands-on experience gives us a unique perspective on our breeding program and allows us to understand our horses not simply through their pedigrees, but through their development under saddle.
More than five decades of thoughtful breeding have brought together talented Morgan bloodlines and produced horses capable of competing through Grand Prix dressage. Just as important to us is temperament. We strive to produce athletic, intelligent, willing horses that are enjoyable and rewarding partners for both adult amateurs and professional trainers.
Developing Horse and Rider
Our training philosophy is centered on creating a balanced, sustainable path forward for both horse and rider.
We believe great riding comes from the right combination of thoughtful training, clear goals, consistency, education, and support. Our role as trainers and coaches is not simply to help riders achieve the goals they arrive with, but to help them discover what else may be possible.
That philosophy has shaped the culture at Moana Morgans. We have created a positive, supportive, and inspiring barn environment where clients are part of a team and accomplishments are celebrated together.
Throughout the year, we bring respected clinicians to the barn, giving riders access to additional perspectives and helping our trainers continually expand their own knowledge. We also host schooling shows and compete together at USDF-recognized competitions, giving riders opportunities to build confidence, gain experience, and put their training into practice.
Sally Anderson
Trainer, Breeder & Owner | Moana Morgans
For Sally Anderson, Morgan horses and dressage have been a lifelong passion. Raised in a Montana ranching family with generations of Morgan breeding behind it, Sally began her dressage career as a teenager and has spent more than 30 years training horses, coaching riders, and developing the Moana Morgans breeding program.
Sally is a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist and has achieved the distinction of training and riding three Morgan horses to Grand Prix—Mehrs Eloquence, Iron Forge Starman, and Flower of Alliance. In 2024, Sally and Flower of Alliance became the 21st Morgan horse-and-rider combination to successfully compete at Grand Prix, earning a score of 64.2% during their first year at the level. Her success in the competition arena directly informs the Moana Morgans breeding program. Sally has spent decades developing Morgan sport horses with the athleticism and movement required for dressage while preserving the intelligence, work ethic, versatility, and willing temperament for which the Morgan breed is known. Many of the horses she breeds are also horses she develops and competes, giving her a unique understanding of her bloodlines from birth through the upper levels.
Sally is equally passionate about teaching. Her approach combines classical dressage principles with a broad background in horsemanship to create a fair, positive, and sustainable training program for horse and rider. She has coached riders from their first shows through recognized competition and national-level opportunities.
Today, Sally continues to train, teach, breed, and compete from Moana Morgans in Bigfork, Montana, carrying forward a family Morgan tradition that began more than 50 years ago. (Morgan Dressage Association)

Experience & Accomplishments
Decades of Developing Horses and Riders
The Moana Morgans training program is backed by more than 30 years of competitive dressage experience, from developing young horses at Training Level to competing at Grand Prix and the FEI levels.
Our experience includes earning USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals, numerous USDF All-Breeds, Morgan Dressage Association (MDA), American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA), and Montana Dressage Society championships, and developing multiple Morgan horses through the upper levels of dressage.
Just as important as our own competitive accomplishments is helping our students reach theirs. Over the years, we have coached riders from their first schooling shows through USDF-recognized competition, regional championships, national qualification, and the North American Youth Championships.

Recent Competition Highlights
2025
Moana Irish Mist competed at Prix St. Georges with scores as high as 61%, earning USDF All-Breeds, MDA and AMHA championship honors. Taco del Lago competed at Training Level with scores as high as 68%. Throughout the season, we also coached multiple students in pursuit of their individual competition goals.
2024
Flower of Alliance competed at Grand Prix with scores as high as 64% and was named MDA Grand Prix Champion. Moana Irish Mist competed at Fourth Level with scores as high as 64%, earning both the MDA Fourth Level Championship and USDF All-Breeds honors.
2023
Flower of Alliance competed at Intermediate II with scores as high as 63% and earned the MDA Intermediate II Championship. Moana Irish Mist competed at Third Level with scores as high as 65%, earning the MDA Third Level Championship and USDF All-Breeds Reserve Champion honors. EMR Dorado earned First Level scores as high as 71%.
A Lifetime with the Morgan Sport Horse
Our competition record tells only part of the story. Many of the horses we have successfully developed through the levels are Morgans we have bred, raised, trained, or whose bloodlines remain an important part of the Moana Morgans breeding program today.
That experience gives us a unique perspective. We understand our horses from pedigree to pasture and from first rides to FEI competition. It informs how we breed, how we train, and how we help each horse and rider develop a partnership built for long-term success.
While ribbons, scores, and championships are meaningful milestones, our greatest measure of success is seeing horses and riders develop the confidence, skills, and partnership to accomplish more than they thought possible.
